File-sharing was/is the best idea in the world. I know I was one of the first to use Napster, and when that closed down, I downloaded 126 songs. No joke.
Of course, Napster's closing was a bad thing, but at least nobody got into trouble
(except for the guy who created it...). Now with Kazaa they're (meaning the authorites) are going to "crack down" on people who download stuff of Kazaa. Those bastards. Everybody already knows that, and I'm sure about 50% of you actually think that it might happen to you. Well, somebody I think either in my town or close to it got caught, and she was charged something like $1500 a song.
Ok, now I know that having one person buy a CD that millions will be able to download off of for free sounds unfair, but really, $1500 a song? How fair is that? I'll tell you. Not fair at all.
Recently I opened Kazaa and realized that I have at least 3000 songs/pictures/videos that I've downloaded off of Kazaa over however many years I've had it, and I did the math. $1500 X 3000+ = A shitload of money. Crap, I thought to myself, That sucks. So I;m now in the process of completely reorganizing my entire MP3 collection, and moving them out of My Shared Folder.
By the way, if you dont wanna get busted, all you have to do is move all of the files in your Shared Folder into a new folder you make. The coppers only see what's in your Shared Folder, So be sure to fill it with pornagraphic photos with file names like "Cop humps poor sap who's just trying to download their favorite songs" That should keep them off your tracks.
